We’re very proud of director Charlie Crane’s new film for refugee charity Caritas International. Keys of Hope shot through BBDO Dusseldorf spreads awareness of the current plight of 4.4 million Syrian refugees and takes a stand for human solidarity.
Charlie and a skeleton crew shot in migrant camps in Sid - a migrant camp for Syrian refugees on their way to Croatia and other European destinations as well as Serbia and Hamburg, Germany. In Germany, the camp was in part of a military base with camp beds set up in the gymnasium where the shoot took place.
Charlie talked to the refugees and picked 10 subjects to film their personal stories of flight from their homes in classical portrait lighting. See one man’s story HERE
The Keys of Hope idea was inspired by a photo series ‘Syrian Nakba’ by British photo journalist Bradley Seckers. Watch the film HERE
